DOMIQ/Remote is a home control application designed specifically for the iPhone and the iPod Touch. It allows remote controlling of the LCN (Local Control Network) installation either from a local WiFi network or remotely over the Internet.

Most important features of the application include:

• Dedicated application for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch
• Full screen visualizations on all devices
• All menus and screens are fully configurable
• Notifications - even when application is not running
• Automatic switching of connections - WiFi or UMTS
• Secure, encrypted communication protocol
• Automatic configuration synchronization
• Supports multiple installations

For the connection to the LCN installation it requires a DOMIQ/Base module, which must be purchased separately. Using a web based configuration interface hosted on the DOMIQ/Base a number of predefined controls can be arranged into separate pages and sections. It is possible to create different layouts, such as by room or by function for example.

Available controls include:

• On/Off buttons
• Multifunction dimmer switch (press/slide)
• Button groups, that send any LCN commands
• Configurable sensor "led"
• Heating control with temperature history graphs
• IP based video cameras (IP camera must support MJPEG streaming) view, with ability to zoom in landscape mode. For some cameras pan-tilt-zoom control is provided by sliding finger on the screen
• Overview mode, where lights are drawn on home layout

On the movie of the DOMIQ/Remote you can see pairing process with the DOMIQ/Base as well as some navigation. Please notice speed of the user interface, which can only be achieved with dedicated connection protocols.

The primary goal during design and implementation of this application was usability and "quickness" of use. The main focus was ability to call any function with minimum number of touches or screen changes.

For each DOMIQ/Remote to be connected to the DOMIQ/Base a license is required. Module DOMIQ/Base is delivered with one DOMIQ/Remote license included. Additional licenses can be purchased separately from DOMIQ.
